The Era of Artificial Intelligence

Introduction:

If you are someone who are even exposed to the modern technologies in some form, then it is not possible that you haven’t heard the term AI. Artificial Intelligence or AI refers to the machines or software which can act, take decisions just like human but speedily and efficiently, otherwise what would be the difference. Artificial Intelligence is not only limited to robots, as many people have such misconceptions. The introduction of wireless technology, supercomputing which enabled to create complex algorithms, advanced computer chips have gifted us with the blessing of Artificial Intelligence. At the time when semiconductor chip who could have thought that those very same chips will be used in our smartphones and smart devices which will enable us to do almost everything.

Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Daily Lives:

There are many types of artificial intelligence including machine learning, where instead of being programmed what to think, machines can observe, analyse, and learn from data and mistakes just like our human brains can. Today, AI is an integral part of our daily lives. If you some query or question while using your phone, you use Siri or Google Assistant. Other assistants such as Cortana, Alexa are examples of AI. How do you think they give exact reply of your questions. There are algorithms which continuously run so that those AI’s can work. Gone were the days when people used to carry a map whenever they travelled somewhere. Today’s generation uses Maps to locate places and make there travel smoother. There are navigation guides and assistants which tells you how to reach somewhere, which is the shortest route, how much time it will take, what is the traffic, and many more.

How Artificial Intelligence is shaping our world:

Artificial Intelligence is shaping the world, there is no doubt about that. Since the time we wake up to we sleep, AI is constantly around us in one or another form. In almost every industry, Artificial Intelligence is contributing. Tech companies are spending billions of dollars behind developing the next generation of artificial intelligence. AI is being used in businesses to take key decisions regarding production, consumer markets, and manufacturing policies. Life saving AI is used in the healthcare industry which can diagnose certain chronic diseases at its initial stage. AI is changing the gaming world by developing real world surroundings, unparallel simulations and much more. AI has already changed the way we search, use, and perceive information. The moment we open Apps like Netflix, Spotify, YouTube we get AI powered recommendations based on our past history.

Summary:

Although there are many advantages linked with the use of Artificial Intelligence, there are certain limitations too. Due to lack of any standard policy or guideline on the use of AI, there may be rise of conflict among individuals, businesses, and countries. Some people also have concern about the fact that AI will take over the human’s race and will make them slave. Well, it can be said for sure that AI will not rule over humans anytime with the current level of technology they have. With all of this said, it can be said that Artificial Intelligence is making this world a better place to live. We are lucky to be alive in era to witness the Artificial Intelligence to reach at its peak.
