The Domination of American Companies in Various Industries

It is said that the 16th, 17th, and 18th century belonged to European countries specially U.K. As European countries dominated the many countries and established colonies, their companies and industries flourished. But post world war, the dynamics changed. As more and more countries gained freedom from European countries, the power and dominance fall. This power was shifted toward the western part of the world. USA became the global superpower in 20th century and is still dominating the 21st century. Though since past couple of decades American companies are getting tough competition from Asian companies. Still, in majority of the industries, American companies are still dominating the market.

There are many such industries in which american companies have established their dominance. Whether it is E-Commerce companies, Tech companies, Electronic Goods companies, or Semiconductor companies in USA, they are dominating their respective industries.

APPLE: It is one of the most popular company in the world. Apple iPhones, iPads, iPods, MacBook, Air pods are quite popular among today’s generation. Apple products are perceived as superior products to its competitors and the brand loyalty of consumers toward Apple is quite impressive. Apple is dominating the Tech Industry for years. It is one of the most valuable company in the world. It was the first company to cross the 1 trillion$ mark of market valuation. Since its launch apple has introduced innovative products which has changed the course of the tech industry. Other American tech companies such as Google, Microsoft has also dominated the global tech industry for years.

FACEBOOK: Facebook as a social media company has dominated the social media industry since its establishment. With over a billion users, Facebook has truly mad this world look small. After the acquisition of WhatsApp and Instagram, the Mark Zuckerberg owned company has placed itself as the undisputed leader in the social media industry.

NETFLIX: Not only Netflix has changed the dynamics of entertainment and media industry but also has introduced a whole new industry to the world, i.e., OTT Industry. With over 180 Million users around the world Netflix has put itself at the top of the OTT industry. It is facing tough competition from other american OTT platforms such as Prime Video, Disney+ and others. Everyday around a billion minutes of content is streamed on Netflix globally.

INTEL: Intel is one of the biggest manufacturers of chips, microprocessors. It is a semiconductor manufacturing company. Since it’s establishment it has dominated the semiconductor industry by dominating about 2/3rd market of computer chip market. Other semiconductor companies in USA such as applied materials, Motorola, AMD, Nvidia is also some of the leading companies in the semiconductor industry.

Apart from all of these industries, American Companies are dominating in the E-Commerce Industry (Amazon), Computer Industry (HP and Dell), Retail Industry (Walmart), Fast Food Industry (McDonalds, Burger King), and others. Thus, with all of this said it is quite clear that for other companies of different countries would have to grow exponentially to overtake the growth of their American Counterparts.
